Purbanchal University (PU) is established in 1995 by the Government of Nepal with its fundamental objective of preserving, refining, inverting, adopting, extending and transmitting knowledge in an environment that fosters open scholarly debate leading to all-encompassing development of the rural people and their economics and environment. The academic programs are designed according to the need of the country and the international trend in the social and economic sector.

The Faculty of Management (FOM) is the first faculty of Purbanchal University (PU) which was established in 1995. The first degree program started by the PU was under the FOM and the program was Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA). This started the professional management degree in Nepal as it was for the first time in Nepal that BBA degree was launched by any University. The rest is history in the development of professional management degrees in Nepal.
The FOM, PU today runs 13 different degrees in many important areas. The Faculty of Management is the first to start PhD and MPhil program in management area under the PU. At present FOM have programs in the area of Business Management & Studies, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Fashion & Designing Management. Our programs are at Graduate, Masters and Doctorates levels in 51 different schools and colleges across Nepal.
